The powerful sound of clanking metal filled the otherwise-peaceful sound of the suburban planet Maywater. Davy wore a pair of denim shorts and a deep-red bra while she worked on the once-glorious Homebound.

“Elo, r’mind me again why you wanted the Vanguard t’ drop us off here again, would ya?” The captain looked down from the portcullis that held up the decently-sized ship, letting her and various other crewmates repair the ship’s lower hull with various scraps and pieces of material provided by their militaristic saviors.

The young Observant droid was down among the few-inch-thick pink grass, constructing and repairing the ship’s more complicated and delicate components with equally as advanced tools, making Davy’s seem primal.

“Well, I live here! After the war ended and the two factions released their Sentient droids out into the galaxy to live on our own, I chose to reside on this world!” The automaton was forced to shout through the loud noises of ship repair while blowtorching pieces of metal together right beneath him. Davy jumps from her heightened position, obviously grabbing the platform’s ledge with her grapple-hand so the fall’s damage was merely nothing.
“Oh yeah… Well anyways, I was ‘bout to let the crew take a break ‘nd go get some lunch. The Vanguard dudes gave us a good chunk ‘a’ change too.” A towel sitting atop one of the any foldable tables soon found its way onto the woman’s forehead, wiping up sweat, then wrapped around her shoulders. “Speakin’ of which, where’s Jessie with the food? Shoulda’ gotten back by now.”
“Hmm, I’m not sure… And Miss Davy, may I ask a question?”

“Ya’ just did.”

Oh- well I uhh… Why exactly did the Vanguard give you all this stuff in the first place, and why did they show up at all?” After the stammering and tripping of words, Elo managed to clear out his self-made interruptions. Davy, being the not-too-bright pirate that she is, forgot to make a specific excuse beforehand. Sweat began to pour from the woman’s forehead in much larger quantities than when she was working and her pupil had shrunken down. A large smile of worry quickly made its way onto her face as the human quickly threw together some kind of explanation.

“Well ya’ see… Uhm… Uhh…” The tiny red orb that was Davy’s pupil quickly darted around to match with her excessive shaking. “B-basically, the Vanguard are just t-that super nice!” She was bound to not reveal the truth for currently unshared reasons, and while the woman wasn’t too keen on keeping secrets she had no reason to hold, she sorta’ owed it to Brother.
“Alright… And as for the strange droid that attacked Melissa and myself?”

The shaking became extreme.

“Is there something that you’re not telling me…?” Elo began to rub his synthetic hand against the flat metal surface that framed his large eye, the white-pupiled light now squinted in suspicion.

“Eee- Uhh.. Oh look!” A figure whirled in from the distance, seemingly a ground-based hovercraft. The figure inside of the four-seated craft was revealed to be none other than Jessie, leaning back with one hand on the wheel and a pair of shades over his eyes. Davy nearly squealed and jumped in excitement from the lucky save.

“Hey! Dudes, we got food!” She turned to face the large space-based craft. The several humans made their descents, some sliding down any of the ship’s four parking-legs, while others were more reasonable and went down the makeshift elevators; all was the same, everyone got a break and nobody minded.

Jessie soon drove the vehicle up towards the repair side, only stopping with a sudden swerve. The topless machine was then put into park by the driver, followed by him nudging the pair of shades up onto his upper face.
“Hey Elo, nice car.” The man removes the keys from their slot along the craft’s dashboard and tossed them to the robot; the droid barely caught them after a few seconds of frantic juggling. Jessie then swings open the floating car’s leftmost driver doo and hops out.
“Stack of pizza boxes is in the back seat.” He points back with a thumbs-up, not caring enough to look back. Davy jumps in excitement and nearly dives into the flotation device, though is soon met with confusion.

“Uhh, what boxes?”

The man stops dead in his tracks, a sudden jolt of suspense now filling his mind, his sunshades falling from place as well. Jessie scrambles over to the unchecked seats, and to his dismay, there laid no boxes.
“I-” He took a moment to remember just where the offset food would be. “I think I left them back on a chair…” His back slumps and eyes shrink to black slits, clearly disappointed with himself. “I’ll head back and grab them.”
Just as the co-captain hops back into the driver’s seat, its robotic owner raises his hand.
“Hang on.” Elo walks over and around the floating car, only to slide into and hop in the passenger’s seat. “I’m coming with.”
Jessie presses up the bridge of his sun-blocking glasses and slots them back over his eyes, only to then rest his forearm along the door’s rim. The man then gives his counterpart a nod.

“Well, it is your car.”

Finally, something that ISN'T full of mysteries and world-building, just a relaxing repair day.
